How it works

Three steps, all on your device. The conversion engine loads into your browser and does the work locally.

Drop

Drag photos in, or browse. The file type is detected automatically, even when Windows mislabels it.

Convert

Your device's own processor decodes and re-encodes each photo. Nothing is transmitted anywhere.

Download

Save files one by one, or grab everything as a single ZIP when you convert in batch.

Common questions

Are my photos really never uploaded?+

Correct. The conversion happens inside your browser using WebAssembly. You can verify it: load this page, disconnect from the internet, and conversion still works. Server-based converters keep your files for 1 to 48 hours; here there is simply nothing to keep.

Why are my iPhone photos HEIC in the first place?+

Since iOS 11, iPhones save photos in HEIC because it stores the same quality in about half the space of JPG. The trade-off is compatibility: many websites, Windows apps and older software still only accept JPG or PNG.

Is there a file size or quantity limit?+

No daily caps and no signup walls. Because your own device does the work, converting 200 photos costs us the same as converting one: nothing. Very large batches are processed sequentially on phones to respect device memory.

Does converting reduce quality?+

PNG output is lossless. JPG and WebP are lossy formats; at the default 90% quality the difference is invisible for photos. You control the quality slider before converting.
